Season - All Year
Location - North East Scotland
Experience the trill of
ferreting on a highland estate set in the picturesque valley of the Feugh. This
is an opportunity to spend some time with our head game keeper “waiting for
the rabbits to bolt” in this exciting and often unpredictable sport,
accompanied by a knowledgeable and a “safe” pair of hands and our team of
eager ferrets! Our outing will lasts
approximately 3 - 5 hours depending on light and conditions. Equipment and
tuition can also be supplied at a small additional cost.
Ferreting
and 4x4 Estate Safari
Make a day of it by combining ferreting with a guided estate tour
After your morning out ferreting, relax over a picnic lunch before taking a tour
through the Estate, featuring a wealth of interesting flora & fauna, and a
rich heritage from various historic buildings, the agricultural calendar and
family link with the Victorian landscape painter Joseph Farquharson.
Specialist Estate Tours encompassing the above are available with one of our
friendly and knowledgeable guides. The farmlands lie mostly in the Feugh valley
and we have excellent view points from the North and South where the whole
estate can be surveyed. In good conditions the views have to be seen to be
believed - from the ships coming in to
Aberdeen
harbour, the hill tops of Bennachie, Morven and Lochnagar and all the
surrounding countryside in between. There is a good chance of spotting a wide
variety of wildlife, including
red deer
, mountain hares, buzzards and many of the low ground wading birds.
