| The
following itinerary includes two days of sporting activities, 2 nights at a 4*
hotel & gourmet dining. This is a
suggested long-weekend break, but it can be tailored to suit the
interests of you and your guests.
Day 1: 4x4 Estate Tour & Ferreting
Experience the trill of ferreting on a highland estate set in the picturesque valley of the Feugh. This is an opportunity to spend some time with a head game keeper "waiting for the rabbits to bolt" in this exciting and often unpredictable sport, accompanied by a knowledgeable and a "safe" pair of hands and our team of eager ferrets! Our outing will lasts approximately 3 - 5 hours depending on light and conditions. Equipment and tuition can also be supplied at a small additional cost.
Relax over a picnic lunch before taking a 4x4 tour with our knowledgeable keepers through Finzean Estate, featuring a wealth of interesting flora & fauna, and a rich heritage from various historic buildings, the agricultural calendar and family link with the Victorian landscape painter Joseph Farquharson.
The farmlands lie mostly in the Feugh valley and there are excellent view points from the North and South where the whole estate can be surveyed. In good conditions the views have to be seen to be believed - from the ships coming in to Aberdeen harbour, the hill tops of Bennachie, Morven and Lochnagar and all the surrounding countryside in between. There is a good chance of spotting a wide variety of wildlife, including red deer, mountain hares, buzzards and many of the low ground wading birds. You will be welcomed by the laird at the estate house with a complimentary coffee or tea and a brief over view of the day ahead. Day 1 & 2: Overnight Accommodation in the heart of Deeside
