Season - All Year Location - North East Scotland Take a break from the office and experience life in the countryside as a Scottish laird. We'll take you on a 4x4 tour of a working estate with an introduction to its fascinating history and how the land is managed, then you will experience some of the activities which are part of everyday life on many farms and estates in Scotland. After a 4x4 drive around the policies you can have a clay pigeon shooting lesson, go quad biking around our race and forest tracks, or even drive one of Scotland's largest combine harvesters. All activities will include full instruction and guidance from experienced staff and where required appropriate safety equipment will be provided. After all that you'll probably be feeling like a bit to eat, but you'll have to catch it first! Try your luck at casting a fly line over our trout ponds and, if you are lucky, catching and landing a fish. But don't worry if you don't get a bite, there will a selection of quality Scottish steaks and local fare cooking on the BBQ nearby. If you are feeling even more adventurous, why not learn to cast a line over one of Scotland's famous salmon rivers (...in true "A River Runs Through It" style), or head into the hills in search of a red stag or a brace of grouse. Experienced fishing instructors (ghillies) and game keepers will show you the ins and outs of handling any equipment and ensuring you enjoy your day on the estate. At the end of the day you can refine your knowledge of Scotland's most famous product - whisky. We can arrange private tours for your party around a local whisky distillery where you will learn about the finer points of making a single malt before taking the taste test yourself with a tutored whisky tasting. Finish the day with a relaxing dinner in an estate house or one of our recommended hotels, discuss the day with your friends over a gourmet dinner, a glass of fine wine and a roaring fire. Perfect! The Laird for a Day package is ideal for corporate events, stag parties and gents weekends away. |
