THE SPEYSIDE EXPERIENCE
Stay a while and experience the best of Speyside

The following itinerary includes two days of sporting activities, 2 nights at a 4* hotel, gourmet dining and whisky tasting. This is a suggested long-weekend break which has been tried and tested with other parties (...to great success!), but it can be tailored to suit the interests of you and your guests.

Day 1: Lairds for a Day - Join us for an action packed day on a Country Sporting Estate

You will be welcomed by the laird at the estate house with a complimentary coffee or tea and a brief over view of the day ahead.

Clay Pigeon Shooting - Try your hand at the challenging sport of ‘English Sporting clays’. Starting with a safety briefing and one-to-one clay shooting pigeon lesson, each guest will then have a chance to shoot individually and then in team pairs. To add to the challenge and camaraderie of the day, we keep a score card for each guest and team so you can return home with a record to prove you shot a 'springing teal', 'settling pigeon' or 'driven grouse'- each type depending on how the clay moves through the air. This package includes 40 clays with instruction and use of all equipment.

Quad Biking - Then jump aboard your quad bike for an adrenaline packed race around the estate tracks! Quad Bikes were once largely used by farmers to move around on the rough terrain, however it is has become a very popular recreational sport. Quads are very easy to control and ride since they are automatically geared and have no clutch. After a safety and instruction session, in no time at all you'll be driving around the specially set out track, and then racing in and out of the trees in a designated wooded area on the estate. There's a range of different turns and parts to it so there's lots of opportunities to perfect your quad racing technique.

Off-road Driving - This is followed by off road driving around the estate tracks in the land rover 4x4s. Your instructor will give you a lesson on the technique of driving the vehicles over different terrain, then it will be your turn to take over the wheel and really test your driving ability around designated tracks on the estate.

Enjoy a two course lunch of Scottish and homemade fare which includes a glass of red or white wine and a complementary dram of local whisky. Set by the trout ponds or in the estate house (weather depending!) it's the perfect location to while away the afternoon.

Archery - After a relaxing lunch, it's over to our archers to explain the technique of firing a bow and arrow. You will be aiming for marked targets which are backed up with straw bails and within no time at all you'll be taking aim in true Robin hood style...but with slightly less requirement for green tights and feathers in your hat!

Complementary refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

Day 2: A river runs through it - Salmon Fishing in Speyside

Scotland has world famous salmon rivers like the Tweed, Tay, Spey and Dee, many of which have recently been reporting record catches. The River Spey, running through the heart of the Speyside, is one of the largest rivers in Scotland and, with many tributaries such as the Avon, provides excellent sport for the angler.

As the home of  "Spey Casting", where better to learn and perfect the finer art of casting a fly with expert tuition and advice provided by a "Ghillie" (tutor).

Your fly fishing lesson can start in the relaxed surroundings of trout ponds with jetties to aid casting before moving onto the river where you can put your new found skills into practice. Your Ghille will always be at hand to guide you over the beat of the river, advise you on where fish are likely to lie, the best tackle to use and - if you are lucky - help you land a fish.

At the end of your day, return to your hotel and relax over a gourmet dinner and a chance to reminisce over your experience on the river. If you wish stay for a few more days, we would be happy to put an itinerary together which meets your requirements.

Whatever your interests, be it country sporting pursuits, exploring the rugged wilderness, or simply searching for peace and quiet, we can tailor a holiday in Scotland to suit the requirements of your party, ensuring there is something for everyone and that you return home dreaming of your days in the Scottish countryside.
