T
hroughout the seasons, there are a host of possibilities for the enthusiast to enjoy Scotland's wildlife. SEA & COAST
Location - North East Scotland

If your interests lie in the rugged shore line, the deep seas and coastal wildlife, your tour will start in the North East of Scotland to view the coastline and cliffs near the Foulsheugh RSPB bird reserve.  From the vantage point of a working fishing boat, you will spot thousands of sea birds such as guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes, with smaller numbers of colonies of fulmars, herring gulls, puffins and shags, all clinging to the steep cliff face, flying overhead or diving into the waters below.

Scotland is also home to around 90% of the UK's 33,000 common seals, so during your boat trip you are likely to spot them close by, bobbing on the surface of the water, lying on the shore or a rocky outcrop. Their dark gray back and lighter, mottled underside makes them perfectly camouflaged in the sea and on rocks, so you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled!

If we are lucky, we may even spot Harbour porpoise or the dorsal fins of bottlenose dolphins appearing in the waters below. Dolphins have been known to ride in the bow wave of the fishing boat allowing you to observe them streamlining through the water before flicking their tails and disappearing into the depths of the North Sea.

Complementary refreshments will be provided on arrival and during your trip, and after an energetic tour of some of Scotland best coastal wildlife you can relax with a hearty lunch or dinner at one of our local restaurants.
